Lots of people make the mistake of seeing their doctor only when they are already feeling sick or when something is wrong, but one of the best ways to maintain good health is to have a yearly physical exam. For most people, one annual exam a year is recommended.
This is a key part of preventive care and can be instrumental in catching illnesses and diseases early, before they start to negatively impact your life. Presently, it is estimated that 6 out of 10 Americans are living with a chronic disease, some of which could have been avoided with preventive care.
A yearly physical is one of the best forms of preventive care available. Even if you feel perfectly healthy, we will be able to run routine lab work and other diagnostic tests that can serve as valuable indicators for abnormalities you wouldn’t be able to spot otherwise.
In addition to catching diseases and other chronic conditions early, an annual exam can help you maintain healthy habits like physical activity and a balanced diet. Healthy behaviors are key to a long, healthful life. We will help you follow through with these behaviors which work far better at preventing illnesses than medicine.
Our yearly physical generally consists of a series of questions about your medical history followed by an examination to ensure that you do not have any symptoms of illness. Together, the medical history and the physical examination help formulate a treatment plan, if necessary. The general information collected is as follows:
Height And Weight Measurement
Blood Pressure
Respiratory Rate
Heart Rate
Temperature
A Systematic Physical Examination Will Be Performed. It Generally Starts At The Head And Finishes At The Extremities
Medical And Family History Review
Height And Weight Measurement
Risk Factor Assessments
Health Screening Questions (Bone Density, Mammogram, Colonoscopy Etc…
Basic Labs Will Be Drawn Or You Will Be Sent To A Nearby Laboratory Facility
Body Mass Index (Bmi) Measurement Review
